SAVE STRESS | My Tips on time management tools to reduce stress.
In our fast-paced world, taking time to decompress and relax seems like a dream.
As a busy professional working in the city, making time to plan was not my habit.
I didn’t realize planning, making lists, and scheduling some me-time would have huge benefits.
Making time to plan what you are doing when is how you will manage stress.

Checklists
Creating the habit of making a checklist will reduce stress.
Writing it down gives you time to think it through, call it simple logistics.
Be realistic about the tasks per day. An over-ambitious list will make you feel like a failure if you don’t complete your list.
Failure is not the goal, keeping on track is the goal.
As you check off each task item, you will feel a sense of satisfaction, every day.
My checklist starts with daily business and office tasks, ending with personal errands and social plans.
My list helps me keep track of my start time and end time, making me more productive.

Keep it simple. My method is old-school pen and notebook.
I write my next day check-list at the end of the day.
I take my check-list to work or on-site locations, it’s small and easy to tote, no wifi needed. 🙂

Apps, desktop post-it-notes, word documents, online organizers, so many choices.
There are great apps; digital checklists, grocery shopping, travel to wedding planning, it’s overwhelming.
You will spend time learning to manage a new app.
Before you download the latest new app, try the paper & pen method, you may be surprised at its effectiveness.

Calendars
Once you’ve mastered your checklist habit, a digital calendar becomes your backup system.
Google, iCal, Outlook, Yahoo calendars will notify you of upcoming meetings, appointments, and social events.
My calendar’s notifications keep me on track for auto-pays, meetings, travel time, and upcoming events.
Not being late for meetings, appointments and missing out on social gatherings reduces stress.

Me Time
Me time doesn’t just happen, you have to plan it. Write me-time into your checklist and on your calendar.
If you don’t plan it, it will never happen, something will always get in the way, call it human nature.
My Me-Time is a lush bath experience. I plan a stop-in at Lush at Union Square, pick-up bubbles, and a Netflix pick.
Candles and double bubbles recharge my senses and creativity.
What’s your me time escape? Plan it now and enjoy!
